Major cull of wild horses in the Kimberly, WA

The WA Government plans to cull Arab line wild horses on a pastoral lease in the Lake Gregory area of  Western Australia and truck them thousands of miles to an abaytoir for horse meat export.    While the cull has been suspended due to public outcry, ABA fears that yet again, governments are not taking responsibility for providing effective long term management...

Foundation Brigitte Bardot writes to Qld Premier

Brigitte Bardot, president of the French based international animal welfare organisation Foundation Brigitte Bardot has written to Qld Premier Anna Bligh to protest against aerial culling of horses and to encourage humane management practices such as fertility control.

2009 Aerial Survey of Feral Horses in the Australian Alps

A new aerial survey of wild horse populations has been released by the Alpine National Park Liaison Committee and can be located at the site below.    The report findings indicate that the horse populations had increased by 21% since the last survey.    ABA is preparing a response.
