About the ABA
The Australian Brumby Alliance was formed in April 2008 and its mission is to act as a National Body for the Recognition, Management, Preservation and Welfare of Australian Wild Horses (Brumbies).
The ABA will advocate common causes of members to national, state and local governments and the general public, with membership consisting of non-government wild horse interest groups and other qualified stakeholders. (e.g. RSPCA).
ABA objectives include lobbying for: non lethal humane methods of controlling excess brumby numbers; government land for brumbies to continue living in their wild state; public information exchange; and national funding to further the welfare and wellbeing of Australian Brumbies.
ABA activities will focus on strategic issues that are beyond the ability or scope of any single member group to undertake, or that are of significant interest and benefit to the membership as a whole. However the ABA has no control or authority over individual member groups.
